Alda Marshall Witherspoon
ALDA MARSHAL WITHERSPOON is an accomplished lecturer, poet, playwright, performing artist, producer, and former Director of Public and Private Partnerships for the Mayor’ Office of Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment Department for Boston.
She has collaborated with noted political figures President Bill Clinton, Secretary of State John Kerry, civil rights torch-bearers Martin Luther King III and Julian Bond, as well as a host of performing artists including legends Pattie Labelle and Peabo Bryson.
Alda is also chair of the non-profit Witherspoon Institute (WIN) where she is internationally noted as an etiquette expert – teaching leadership skills, arts and development, and ballroom dance to children 7-18 years old.
Currently, she is co-producing her new play, Garden of the Universe, the Rise of Georgia Bellar, which will be showcased later this year, to celebrate her 22nd anniversary as a playwright.
